Restoring Healthy, Restorative Sleep
Sleep is essential for both mental and physical well-being. When insomnia becomes chronic, it can begin to affect mood, concentration, energy, and overall quality of life. Many people with persistent sleep difficulties find themselves caught in a frustrating cycle—worrying about sleep, trying harder to sleep, and ultimately sleeping worse.
At Lucera Health, we offer both in-person and virtual care for individuals experiencing chronic insomnia and other sleep concerns. Our goal is to understand the underlying contributors to sleep disruption and develop a personalized plan that helps restore more natural, restorative sleep patterns.
Why Sleep Matters
Consistent, high-quality sleep plays a vital role in overall health. When sleep becomes disrupted over time, it can contribute to:
Increased anxiety or depression
Difficulty concentrating or memory challenges
Daytime fatigue and reduced productivity
Hormonal and metabolic changes
Increased stress on the immune and cardiovascular systems
Encouragingly, improving sleep often leads to meaningful improvements in mood, energy, focus, and resilience to stress.
At Lucera Health, we approach sleep through a whole-person lens, exploring the biological, psychological, and lifestyle factors that may be contributing to insomnia. Our collaborative model allows us to incorporate therapeutic approaches, integrative & lifestyle support, and medication options when desired or appropriate.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I)
For many individuals with chronic insomnia, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) is one of the most effective treatments available.
CBT-I is a structured, evidence-based therapy that addresses the patterns that tend to perpetuate insomnia. It helps individuals:
Shift thoughts and worries that interfere with sleep
Develop healthier sleep routines and habits
Strengthen the body’s natural sleep drive
Re-associate the bed with sleep rather than wakefulness
Research shows CBT-I can be as effective as sleep medications in the short term and more effective in the long term, because it helps address the underlying causes of insomnia rather than only treating symptoms.
Our Approach
Initial Sleep Evaluation
60-minute comprehensive appointment, $340
Your first visit focuses on understanding the factors contributing to your sleep concerns and identifying the most appropriate treatment path. During this evaluation, we take a thoughtful look at factors that may influence sleep, including:
Sleep history and current sleep patterns
Stress, anxiety, or rumination that may interfere with sleep
Medical conditions that may impact sleep
Hormonal or physiological contributors
Medications or supplements that may affect sleep
Lifestyle habits and sleep environment
This whole-person assessment helps us identify the biological, psychological, and behavioral contributors to insomnia.
Based on this evaluation, we work together to develop an individualized treatment plan. This may include integrative strategies, therapeutic approaches such as CBT-I, and, when appropriate, medication support.
Follow Up Appointments
If Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) is part of your treatment plan, care typically includes 4–6 follow-up visits, scheduled approximately every two weeks. During these sessions, we work together to implement strategies that support healthier sleep, such as:
Adjusting sleep schedules to strengthen natural sleep drive
Addressing thoughts and worries that interfere with sleep
Improving sleep habits and routines
Incorporating behavioral and relaxation strategies that promote restorative sleep
Treatment is individualized and adjusted over time based on sleep patterns, progress, and your broader health goals.
